Steven Stalinsky, executive director of the Middle East Media Research Institute, recently reported in the New York Sun on the growing alliance between elements of the hard left and the Islamist extremists. “The roster of Islamist-left alliances quietly grows every day,” Stalinsky writes. For example, “Massachusetts Institute of Technology linguistics professor Noam Chomsky praises Hamas and denounces America on Hezbollah’s Al-Manar television…”

LOL. Believe it or not, by radical Islamic thinking you are the left. To them you wouldn’t even be close to center. You, an American conservative, would be considered a no good dirty liberal.
They are brothers in arms in the jihadist struggle with the common ground being both groups hate America and what it stands for.
And the right got in bed with Adolph Hitler, so what’s your point? If you look at your history the “right”, aka Ronald Reagan got in bed with Sadam Hussain back in the 80″s. Enough said.The intelligence of these questions from the “right” are amazing!
Radical Muslims hate Jews, gays, social liberalism, & anything that insults Islam. Liberals might appear to be sucking up to radical Muslims, but the vast majority of radical Muslims will still hate American liberals for their views on social issues like gay marriage & abortion.
They both share the same goal of dismantling traditional American society. The political left has actively sought it for over 50 years. Radical islam, nearly 20 years. They only differ in their end goals. The left wants America to become communist, Islam wants us to become muslims. If the republicans are victorious in 2008 that will greatly diffuse the left. Getting rid of the islamists will be a little more difficult and will take longer. The attacks on freedom come from more than one direction.
Ronald Reagan supported Radical Islamists.

The alliance reminds me of Lenin’s statement about “useful fools”.
In the world sense even our most extreme liberals and extreme conservatives are middle of the roaders. The article talks about liberals. They are not the same as American liberals these people are near anarchists. Some have moved so far to the left the sit on the extreme right. The right has the same problem.
The scare tactics used in the US by what we call the right are meant to scare people to their way of thinking. It worked for awhile but now people are finding out how much that group has lied to them and it is not going to work any more. Equating American lefties with international lefties is ridiculous. There is no comparison. Comparing American righties with international righties is just as rediculous. Again, no real comparison.
They both share a common enemy, the US. Most Far Left whackos naturally gravitate to anyone else who is also whacked out. Far Lefties still harbor the fantasy that they can peacefully co-exist with people like the radical Islamists. I have read (sorry, don’t have the link handy) that many Far Left females in Berkeley are converting to Islam as it has become fashionable to do so. Guess it’s true that some women just like to be abused, no matter what their political beliefs.
